The new Crowntree Inn reflects the original building introduced in 1984; a similiar color palette, slate roof, gable with three windows, and diamond leaded glass windows on the upper level. A special bottom stamp has been added to commemorate the 25th Aniversary of the Dicken's Village Series.
The original Shops of Dickens Village featured seven small and simple designs representing the core elements of an English town in the 19th Century-the butcher, the baker, a candle shop, black smith, inn, green grocer, and the basket shop.
In 2009 Dept 56 celebrates the Silver Anniversary of this beloved village. To commemorate this anniversary, Dept 56 is pleased to introduce several inspiring new pieces to give collectors a fresh series of buildings based on the classic pieces introduced in 1984

It has a scene inside the house which has three children from around the world dressed in traditional costumes, enjoying the company of Santa inside his visiting center in the North Pole. The wonderful Gift set of 6 does include the Visiting Center, girl with dog, fence, white pine decorated with candy canes, cobblestone path with garland theater roping and posts, and 1.5 oz bag of fresh fallen snow. Mint condition piece in original box and sleeve. Santa never knows what to expect when visitors from around the world come to "Santa's Visiting Center". Once past the garland theater ropes, mischievous tots may tug at Santa's beard, but the entrance door is specially made to attract little ones wishing for "baby dolls that toddle and coo, elephants, boats, and kiddie cars too".
